In perfect condition.
I got this for my Mom, who is trying to improve her French. She really likes this, because she can watch the movie and then get through the book more easily. The storyline is also superb - I got it because I really liked the book in English. My mom loves the story too.
Most interesting story and one cannot put it down after the first book...must get 4 to see the follow up of this amazing life story.
Because this book is a graphic novel, it's a great way to increase your proficiency in French. It's well written and gives insight into what life was like in Iran after the revolution. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their French.
It's a good way to become familiar with conversational French and colloquialisms. I'm not quite through with it, but I like that the serious topics that it discusses are juxtaposed with the simplicity of the comics, which reflect Marjane's youthful perspective and experience of them.
I picked up this book to practice my french reading. I had tried other books (Asterix, Petit Prince, etc) and found them hard to get into. Persepolis ended up being a much better choice for my skill level. As the story starts out narrated from a child's perspective, it is easy to get into for beginning/intermediate french student/speakers. Well written story and touching. Nice quality printing, I am glad I started reading this series.
I had to buy this book for a French class but it is honestly one of my favorite books. Very enlightening on Iran and the revolution within their country. Helps explain that not every was in support of communism but many were fighting against this very thing! Overall, very educational!
