Very enjoyable read.
If you're looking for a hot contemporary romance to enjoy during lunch or before bed, I recommend this one. The sex scenes are charged and passionate, but not slutty and unmeaningful. All and all, Playing With Fire is a good romance to bring to the beach or anywhere else you need a quick read.
Hey how about this book is one of those books that seem like an advocate against domestic abuse, but then plays out like every man in the story is controlling the main character.

Way to tell a girl she has no control over her life or her body. If you say that to any weak minded individual, of course the first thing he or she does I is try to assert control by doing something stupid. That's how abuse works. Janet got it from her ex, her new man, and her father. This poor thing can't even tell what way is up anymore without some guy telling her.

How you gonna give her strength to handle her friend's man but not her own life? She had a good plan, and then everyone decided she could succeed, so she didn't.

Also the sex was lame, the characters two dimensional, and the dialogue was repetitive. I got 83% into this book and decided I don't even care if there is a HEA. It would probably be something the her I one didn't want but is too messed up to realize it. Way to go.
A mostly incoherent story at best. So hard to read, not enjoyable to read at all. And the romance was amazingly awkward to read about as well, I had a hard time distinguishing whose point of view the story was from and why the characters even liked each other.
I would recommend this book.
I gave this book five stars because it hit on a lot of things that some people need to know.
I thought this was 3 star worthy because it wads not the same ole poor little rich girl betrayed story. The love scenes were engaging and hot yet endearing and tender. I appreciated the dynamic of the friendship between Janet and Liz- sometimes a true friend does whatever is necessary for the other. I was a little confused by the Eric/Rick being used interchangeably- but was overall pleased with the story and the HEA was worth it! Looking forward to more from Ms. Francis!
