In Roswell ReAbducted A Mystery Novella Cinnamon/Burro New Mexico Mysteries Book 4 edition by Tower Lowe Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
This is the second Cinnamon and Burro story that I read and it was just as good as the first one... I am hooked on these characters! I love the way they solve mysteries and how they are tracking Momma! This has a really good plot and a sci fi spin to it. It is set in Roswell and packed with all of the Roswell sci fi madness that you would expect. Danny's abduction is totally believable and it is completely justifiable why he would be paranoid about a re-abduction. The writing is really tight and the characters are well written and really fleshed out nicely. If you are looking for a great mystery story with some awesome main characters that you will fall in love with, look no further!Tags : In Roswell, Re-Abducted: A Mystery Novella (Cinnamon/Burro New Mexico Mysteries Book 4) - Kindle edition by Tower Lowe. In Roswell ReAbducted A Mystery Novella Cinnamon/Burro New Mexico Mysteries Book 4 edition by Tower Lowe Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
In Roswell, Re-abducted the short story takes lots of twists and turns. A few more twists and turns for my taste. With editing, the story could have been shortened and still have the same effect. Cinnamon and Burro are in Roswell searching for Cinnamon's Momma and there are a lot of references to aliens - both illegal and non-illegal. Factor in disabilities and a corrupt police officer, and a dead body, and the story becomes a bit farcical.
I received this short story as part of a box set, and as a gift for my honest and unbiased review.
I couldn't wait to reach this story in the "Cinnamon/Burro" mystery series because, who doesn't love aliens? Just the thought of being able to continue reading another story set in the lovely New Mexico, and taking another road trip with Cinnamon and Burro, filled me with anticipation. And this story does not disappoint. A bit longer than the others in this series, we get a chance to interact with the characters a bit more and take our time in unraveling the new crime set before us. I absolutely love Ms. Lowe's writing and her unique way of unfolding a story, because that's just what this series is, a beautiful unfolding of a rich and fragrant tale.
**I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review**
Type A Non-Fiction Story
Setting At Billie-Ray's Bar and Grill a location in Roswell (on Main Street) - early around 2AM in the month of March on a windy morn.
The story is told in first person narrative and is a sci-fi tale. If you like reading stories about aliens, this will spark your interest. At one time or another, surely, we've heard of those alien tales. The character Danny who was abducted as a child and now fearing re-abduction as an adult is totally plausible. The story makes for a great Discovery Channel screen view, or film addition. But don't just settle for aliens, the author has the details full of suspense, mystery, drug dealings and more. The author does an awesome job of putting the reader-audience in the moment. She brings her vivid, detailed, and imaged descriptions of the scene and its characters (humans and aliens) to life - as the reader navigates through those pages. It all seems so real; especially, in Chapter 22 when the author captures a full development of the effect . . . the light descended and transformed into a saucer shape, getting larger and the orange glow turning to green as the saucer approached me. It landed in the field right next to my car.
. . . "You were abducted."
The way the author concludes her story, one can say "This won't be the last we'll hear from this author." Certainly, there is much more to come as she opens the pages to new chapters.
" Going to Carlsbad" should make for an exciting read.
Once again, I need to read the fine print. That's on me. "In Roswell, Re-abduc"ted is a short story or a long chapter in a book that's being serialized; it is not a novel. While the author has some nice plot twists in this little chapbook, the story is in desperate need of an editor. Way too many simple grammatical errors and story-telling issues for such a small story. There were a half-dozen missing or extraneous quotation marks, a he became a she, and it was difficult at times to follow the story due to some abrupt scene changes.
The author has some good dialogue and turn of phrases. The scene setting was okay, but it needed to be beefed-up so readers who haven't been to Roswell could feel like they are there. The author brought up some the kooky places in the town, but stopped short of bringing us fully into the Roswell world and allowing us to accept the off-beat nature of the story. Cobbled together with the rest of the chap-books, I could probably get behind the twisty story with odd-ball characters and growing mystery about Cinnamon's mother.
But without stronger editorial guidance, this story is just another example of why the traditional publishing industry chuckles at self-published authors. This chapbook is average with strengths and weaknesses that cancel each other out. It is a 3.
Sometimes I just need a quick, fun read to put in between the longer, deeper stuff I also like. This is a great one. Tells an interesting tale in a fun way, and is also part of an ongoing story. I haven't read them all and so I can vouch for the fact that they absolutely do stand alone as well as being part of a larger story. I highly recommend this book.
This little mystery is well worth the read. A mentally ill young man, who is misunderstood by the community, is accused of a murder. He even thinks he did it, because he has a history of thinking he was abducted by aliens, and he believes aliens caused him to commit the crime. The town in covered in alien memorabilia, and the characters in this story are not at all what they appear. Cinnamon and Burro pursue the mystery. This is their 4th short mystery where they solve a murder and find clues to the whereabouts of Cinnamon's mother who disappeared when she was six. This is a good story. My only problem is I want to see more.
This is the second Cinnamon and Burro story that I read and it was just as good as the first one... I am hooked on these characters!
